 Celebrating Vietnam VetEd Lujan and MaCES Students gathered taking picture Edward Ignacio Lujan

Edward Ignacio Lujan was born on August 12, 1947. He was raised in San Francisco until the age of 11 and moved with his family to New Mexico. At the age of 17 he voluntarily joined the Army and later transferred to the Marines. After training, he was sent to Vietnam on the USS Weigel with the 3rd Battalion, 1st Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. Ed is one of five brothers, who have all joined all the branches of the military. While in Vietnam he crossed paths with two of his brothers. Ed retired as a Security Chief at CVS Studios where he gave 25 years of service. Two years ago, Ed was diagnosed with liver cancer and was given one year to live. He credits his family for giving him the strength to continue to fight. Ed has been part of the East Los Angeles Vet Center for 18 years.
